The Egyptian Book of the Dead

The Book of the Dead is the best term to describe the ancient Egyptian collection of texts. It's a loose compilation of magic spells, written over a thousand years by numerous priests, designed to aid the deceased in navigating the underworld and reaching the afterlife. These texts, often found in tombs, served as a guide and source of protection for the departed on their journey through the Duat.
